EGO TRIPPING

The work
poetry as an immersive experience

Inspired by the beauty and visceral imagery in Nikki Giovanni’s seminal poem, EGO TRIPPING, we developed a world of alternating landscapes weaving a tale of majesty, history, and travel to bring her words to life.

We partnered with award-winning literary and poetry icon Ms. Giovanni to accurately represent not only her literary intention but to ensure that the work delivered the emotional context needed. Designed in the Unreal Engine, this project was designed for the mobile Oculus headset and leverages virtual reality, ambisonic sound, visual effects, and musical composition to tell the story of a queen claiming her kingdom.
